Can You Learn At A Water Park? (You Can.)

Students at Cartoon Network Amazone water park

When people think of water parks, they generally think of sunny weather, exciting water slides, and of course, splashtastic fun with friends. We’d like to add one more thought to the mix: a water park can be an awesome place to learn! It may sound strange, but it’s totally possible here at Cartoon Network Amazone.

Why Learn At A Water Park?

Imagine that you were a teacher that took your class to a water park, had a lot of fun, and knew that they actually learned something? It’s possible. Students learn more when they’re having fun, which isn’t surprising. In the article “Learning Physics In A Water Park”, which first appeared in the March 2014 issue of Physics Education, the author argued that theme park attractions like ours could serve as useful tools for teaching. This article inspired us to wonder what other kinds of lessons could be taught at our park, and it took off from there!

We know that most Cartoon Network fans are kids, and we’re grateful for their support of our shows, characters, and attractions. This also means that we have a great opportunity to reach out to the kids that love our characters and give them a one-of-a-kind learning experience as a way of thanking them for their love!

So, What Can You Learn?

In “Learning Physics In A Water Park,” the author describes attractions at a water park as an effective way to perform hands-on science experiments. However, this is just one way learning can be done at an attraction like ours. Physics, chemistry, business, economics, globalization, and mathematics are all able to be explored here at Cartoon Network Amazone.

Even our Neptune-Benson water filter system can be a teaching tool; it saves tons of power and water, which demonstrates how companies can become more sustainable by investing in modern technology.

Schools don’t even have to come to the park to benefit from our educational outreach program. We’ve sponsored student art contests in the past, and are soon going to debut an ICT-focused digital engineering competition where students will compete to create a new Cartoon Network Amazone attraction! (Keep an eye on our blog and social media channels for more info on this!)

Cartoon Network Amazone is a one-of-a-kind attraction; we’re the only Cartoon Network-themed theme park in the world. But now we’re even more unique because we offer one of a kind educational programs. Having a certified teacher on staff means that offer better educational programs than other water parks in Pattaya. If you’re a teacher or school administrator interested in our educational outreach program, please email ryan.m@cartoonnetworkamazone.com for more details.
